Ms. Zhang Li, President of Grouphorse, was invited to attend the launch ceremony of Shanghai International Studies University's '100 teams,1000 dreams' Corporate Global Expansion Research Program.

This "100 teams,1000 dreams" Corporate Global Expansion Research Program represents a key initiative by Shanghai International Studies University to proactively serve the nation's strategy of opening-up and Shanghai's development of the "Five Centers." Leveraging its core strengths in multilingualism, interdisciplinary studies, and area and country-specific research, the university is driving the evolution of corporate globalization services from platform building to in-depth, on-the-ground implementation. President Meng Zhongjie of Shanghai International Studies University pointed out at the launch ceremony that Chinese enterprises are accelerating their global expansion at an unprecedented pace, and serving their high-quality overseas development has become a critical issue of our time. The university will systematically build a comprehensive service ecosystem for global expansion, encompassing talent cultivation, think tank research, and practical business liaison. He also urged participating faculty and students to strengthen five key areas of awareness — on-the-ground presence, problem identification, outcome orientation, innovation, and safety — to gain in-depth, front-line insights into enterprise needs, produce high-quality research findings, and facilitate their translation into practical applications, thereby providing solid intellectual support and talent assurance for the international development of Chinese enterprises.

President Meng Zhongjie of Shanghai International Studies University delivered a speech at the launch ceremony of the '100 teams,1000 dreams ' Corporate Global Expansion Research Program

According to reports, this research program is built on the core philosophy of "Organize a hundred teams, visit a thousand enterprises, and connect with the world," with an overall target of "100 research teams, 1,000 overseas-expanding enterprises visited, and 10,000 front-line interviews completed." The program aims to establish a "five-in-one" practical education system that integrates social practice, research cultivation, industry-education integration, national conditions education, and global competence development. The research will adopt a three-track implementation approach — "fixed-point research + decentralized research + overseas research" — covering key overseas-expanding industries such as manufacturing, the digital economy, green energy, cross-border e-commerce, and fintech, thereby forming a multi-dimensional, comprehensive research landscape.

As a benchmark enterprise deeply engaged in international language services and industry-education integration, Grouphorse has become a partner in this research program by virtue of its qualifications as an official language service provider to the United Nations system, its dual capabilities in multilingual services and AI data governance, and its proven track record of university-enterprise collaboration with Shanghai International Studies University that has already delivered tangible results. In fact, even before the launch of this major research initiative, Grouphorse had already established the Grouphorse Data Governance Industry Center in collaboration with SISU's School of English Studies, building a solid foundation for cooperation in areas such as multilingual data governance and joint talent cultivation. It is precisely based on this practice-tested partnership and mutual trust that SISU has once again included Grouphorse as a cooperative partner in the "100 teams,1000 dreams " program — a major initiative serving the nation's strategy of opening. At the event, Shanghai International Studies University presented cooperative partner plaques to the representatives of partner organizations, marking an expansion of the bilateral collaboration from the existing Data Governance Industry Center into the broader strategic domain of enterprise global expansion services, and signaling that university-enterprise synergy has officially entered a new phase of on-the-ground implementation.

Corporate global expansion is far more than market development—it is a systematic endeavor involving language conversion, cross-cultural communication, overseas compliance, ESG and green barriers, global communications, and country-specific risk assessment. This aligns perfectly with the core capabilities that Grouphorse has built over more than a decade. As an official language service provider to the United Nations system and nearly forty international organizations, Grouphorse provides high-standard, strictly confidential multilingual support to help enterprises overcome linguistic and compliance barriers. Leveraging its capabilities in AI data annotation and intelligent data governance, Grouphorse can transform the vast amounts of policy texts, country-specific intelligence, overseas public opinion, and cross-border economic and trade data generated during the globalization process into structured, analyzable, and reusable data assets and AI tools. Through its institutional and platform presence in ESG and global governance, Grouphorse can assist enterprises in navigating increasingly stringent green and compliance requirements, such as the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) and sustainability disclosure mandates. And drawing on its long-standing experience in co-hosting UN conferences and deeply engaging with global governance agendas, Grouphorse can help Chinese enterprises establish a voice, convey value, and earn trust in the international arena. It is precisely this full-chain capability—covering "language–compliance–data–communications–talent"—that enables Grouphorse to provide unique industrial support for the "100 teams,1000 dreams " research program. On the one hand, it assists university research teams in precisely reaching front-line overseas-expanding enterprises, identifying real business pain points, and providing industrial perspectives and contextual support for the research. On the other hand, it channels research outcomes back into industry-education integration, working jointly with Shanghai International Studies University to refine talent cultivation models that align with the demands of the overseas expansion industry, and continuously supplying the sector with versatile international talents who possess global vision, language proficiency, and deep industrial insight.

At present, Chinese enterprises' global expansion has shifted from a developmental "option" to an era-defining "imperative." High-level opening up has set higher demands on the service capabilities for overseas expansion and the quality of talent supply. Zhang Li stated that she would take the launch of this research program as a new starting point to continuously deepen the strategic cooperation with Shanghai International Studies University. Closely aligning with the era-defining mission of high-quality Chinese enterprise globalization, she pledged to enhance the overseas expansion service ecosystem with professional service capabilities, and to solidify the foundation of talent supply through industry-education integration, thus contributing strength to supporting Chinese enterprises in sailing abroad and serving the nation's high-level opening-up strategy.
