Connecting Chinese Youth with the UN to Strengthen Global Governance Capacity.

I.Programme introduction

The Grouphorse International Organization ESG Study Camp (Geneva) aims to connect Chinese youth with the United Nations — the core arena of global governance — empowering them to experience firsthand the operational mechanisms of global governance. It is designed to cultivate young talents with an international perspective, enabling them to become vital forces in promoting international cooperation and exchange. The program is committed to broadening their global outlook, deepening their understanding of sustainable development issues, and enhancing their ability to apply innovative thinking to solve complex social problems.

II.Programme highlight

1.Immersive United Nations Experience

This program will organize participants to travel to Geneva, Switzerland, for an in-depth study tour at the United Nations Office at Geneva (UNOG), the European headquarters of the UN, where they will systematically learn about the Organization's mission, founding principles, and operational mechanisms. The Palais des Nations, a historic landmark of the League of Nations, embodies the core concepts of UN-led global governance. Through on-site visits, participants will gain comprehensive improvements in language application, international collaboration, and global perspective — not only listening to the world's voice but also showcasing the wisdom of youth on the international stage.

Upon completion of the program, participants will receive an official certificate of completion issued by the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), serving as a strong credential for their competence in international affairs. Outstanding performers will also receive a letter of recommendation personally signed by a UN official, providing authoritative endorsement for their future participation in global governance and applications for positions in international organizations.

2. In-Depth Visits to Key International Organizations

Participants will conduct in-depth visits to key international organizations, including the World Trade Organization (WTO), the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), and the World Health Organization (WHO). As core pillars of the global governance system, these organizations respectively uphold the missions of building a fair trade order, addressing climate change challenges, and safeguarding global human health. Through on-site visits, participants will gain a systematic understanding of the underlying logic behind the formulation and implementation of international rules, comprehend the collaborative governance models that bridge cross-cutting issues such as trade, climate, and health, and enhance their capabilities in cross-cultural communication, data analysis, and strategic thinking.

3.Career Guidance from the UN System

In response to the growing demand for future-oriented sustainable development, this program not only provides access to authentic UN conference venues, creating a high-level training environment for participants, but also invites senior UN officials, permanent representative diplomats, and sustainable development experts to share their insights and expertise. Through these engagements, participants will gain a deep understanding of how multilateral cooperation mechanisms reconcile national interests with global consensus, and master the underlying logic behind the formulation and implementation of international rules.

4.Experiencing Multiculturalism Through Immersive Travel

Geneva, a jewel of European history and culture, flows with profound humanistic heritage through every street and alley. Participants will visit cultural landmarks such as the International Monument to the Reformation, St. Peter's Cathedral, the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Museum, and the Patek Philippe Museum. They will also savor the unique flavors of multicultural fusion — from French-style escargot and Swiss cheese fondue to Alpine air-dried beef — experiencing the rich tapestry of traditions that define this global city.

III. Participant Feedback from Previous Cohorts

We had the opportunity to visit the United Nations Office at Geneva, touring key international institutions such as the Palais des Nations and the World Trade Organization. We attended insightful lectures delivered by seasoned UN officials with impressive professional backgrounds, and through a variety of engaging, hands-on simulation exercises, we developed essential skills in communication and collaboration. Our program coordinators were exceptionally patient and responsible, addressing students' questions with great care and thoughtfulness. We also drew much inspiration from their personal stories and life reflections. This program gave me a profound appreciation for the breadth and significance of the work carried out by the UN and other international organizations. It broadened my global perspective and offered new inspiration for my future academic and professional pursuits — an experience I will truly never forget.

Note: The schedule is for reference only. The international organizations providing lectures and the institutions to be visited are subject to change based on UN arrangements. The final notification and implementation by the organizers shall prevail.

V. Internship Overview

Program Dates: August 16–22, 2026
Location: Geneva, Switzerland
Program Content: In-depth visits to the United Nations and its key agencies to gain insight into their internal operations, cultivate participants' international perspectives, and engage in face-to-face exchanges with international experts.
Accommodation: Twin-share rooms with private bathrooms, supervised by dedicated program coordinators responsible for safety and overall management.

The fee includes:

3. All      materials, instruction fees, and admission tickets during the program

4. Participant      insurance

VI. Application Information

Age Requirement: 18 years and above. Participants must join independently.
