The establishment of the Grouphorse Health Data Governance Research Center at Shanghai University of Medicine and Health Sciences is not only a significant achievement of deepened collaboration between the two parties, but also a practical step forward in building health data governance capabilities in the context of the digital transformation of the broader health industry.

At present, the development of artificial intelligence is accelerating its shift from general-purpose capability competition to deep vertical industry cultivation. In particular, in high-barrier fields such as medical imaging and healthcare data governance, data quality, domain expertise, scenario-specific standards, and collaborative mechanisms are becoming the critical foundations that determine technological effectiveness and industrial deployability. Unlike general-purpose data processing, health and medical data typically feature high professional thresholds, stringent regulatory requirements, and sensitive application risks, requiring not only deep domain knowledge but also more rigorous data governance and quality control mechanisms. For this reason, the development of high-quality health data resources is becoming an essential pillar driving the digital transformation of the broader health industry.

Against this backdrop, the joint establishment of the research center by Shanghai University of Medicine and Health Sciences and Grouphorse Group carries distinctive scenario-specific advantages and platform value. As a municipal applied undergraduate medical university in Shanghai, Shanghai University of Medicine and Health Sciences has long adhered to an "applied, distinctive, and international" orientation, cultivating a unique educational approach characterized by the integration of medicine and engineering, medicine and elderly care, and medicine and health insurance. The university has built a solid foundation in fields such as medical imaging technology, biomedical engineering, data science and big data technology, and intelligent imaging engineering. Leveraging the university's accumulated expertise in healthcare education, research, and application scenarios, together with Grouphorse Group's practical capabilities in data governance, semantic processing, annotation organization, and compliance quality control, the research center is expected to generate exemplary explorations in health data governance, medical imaging data development, and applied digital talent cultivation.

As a member of the United Nations University Global AI Network, Grouphorse Group has in recent years consistently advanced an integrated development path of "language × AI × compliance," promoting the in-depth expansion of high-quality data annotation, semantic data development, and data governance capabilities into vertical industries. Previously, Grouphorse had jointly established industry-education integration platforms with multiple universities, accumulating considerable experience in professional-scenario data services, talent training mechanisms, curriculum development, and project collaboration. The establishment of the Health Data Governance Research Center with Shanghai University of Medicine and Health Sciences represents an important step in extending these capabilities further into the broader health sector.

From a policy perspective, the establishment of the research center is also highly consistent with national strategies for data as a factor of production, digital talent cultivation, and the development of healthcare big data. As the Digital China and Healthy China initiatives continue to advance, data has become a critical production factor underpinning industry innovation and industrial upgrading. Particularly in the healthcare sector, data governance is no longer just a technical issue but also concerns standard-setting, talent supply, application translation, and industrial collaboration. The launch of the research center is a proactive response to these policy directions and industry trends.

At the ceremony, Zhang Li, Chairman of Grouphorse Group, stated that the digital transformation of the healthcare industry is increasingly reliant on the support of standardized, specialized, and sustainable data governance systems. The joint establishment of the research center with Shanghai University of Medicine and Health Sciences is an important initiative for Grouphorse Group to deepen its data service presence in vertical domains and to promote industry-education integration and collaborative innovation. Looking ahead, Grouphorse will leverage the research center platform, combined with the university's academic strengths and scenario-specific advantages, to steadily advance cooperation in health data governance, high-quality data resource development, and interdisciplinary digital talent cultivation, providing more solid data and talent support for the digital transformation of the broader health industry.

Li Ping, Associate Dean of Shanghai University of Medicine and Health Sciences, stated that the university has always placed great emphasis on deep collaboration with industry enterprises and actively promotes industry-education integration and discipline development. The establishment of the Health Data Governance Research Center marks an important milestone in deepening the university-industry partnership. The university will take this opportunity to further implement collaborative mechanisms, starting with pilot initiatives at the school level and progressively deepening full-chain collaboration across industry-academia-research-application, empowering the university's scientific research innovation and the development of a high-quality interdisciplinary talent cultivation system, and jointly exploring new pathways for university-industry integration and collaborative innovation in the broader health sector.

Witnessed by representatives from both sides, Li Ping, Associate Dean of Shanghai University of Medicine and Health Sciences, and Zhang Li, Chairman of Grouphorse Group, jointly unveiled the Grouphorse Health Data Governance Research Center of Shanghai University of Medicine and Health Sciences.
