On June 12, Mr. Jiang Feng, Assistant to the Chair of the Board of Grouphorse Group, was invited to visit the School of Foreign Languages, Shanghai University of Engineering Science, and delivered a special lecture on cross-cultural communication and exchange to all faculty members of the school. The lecture adopted project-based learning (PBL) as its core framework, was grounded in real workplace scenarios of multinational corporations, and focused on the disconnect between foreign language teaching in universities and industry needs, bringing participating faculty teaching innovation ideas that combine frontier international perspectives with practical implementation value. It was another important practice of Grouphorse Group in deepening industry-education integration and empowering university faculty development.

The lecture was consistently guided by the concept of PBL, took real workplace scenarios in multinational corporations as its entry point, and systematically deconstructed typical conflict scenarios in cross-cultural communication. From the perspective of a corporate executive and combining frontier international trends in global cross-cultural collaboration, Mr. Jiang Feng analyzed in depth the core pain points in current cross-cultural collaboration and correspondingly proposed highly actionable practical response strategies. The sharing was based on Grouphorse Group’s extensive practical accumulation from long-term service to international organizations and Fortune Global 500 enterprises, used real project cases as carriers, moved beyond a purely theoretical framework, and presented a panoramic view of the real scenarios and competency requirements for cross-cultural communication in the global workplace.

The entire sharing closely revolved around the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG), and talent development in the Artificial Intelligence (AI) era three main theme. It used real industry tasks to drive learning logic, precisely responded to common problems such as the disconnect between university students’ workplace English application and weak cross-cultural collaboration capabilities, and clearly benchmarked the job competency standards of international organizations and Fortune Global 500 enterprises. As an official translation service provider to the United Nations, the lead formulator of China’s first ESG training standards, and a deeply engaged participant in the field of high-quality AI language data, Grouphorse Group deeply integrated its industry practices and industry insights in these three fields into the sharing content, aligning the direction of university teaching reform with the pace of global industry development.

This lecture provided participating faculty with directly applicable PBL teaching implementation pathways and effectively bridged the practical gap between classroom teaching and the global workplace. The on-site interaction was lively, and participating faculty conducted in-depth exchanges and discussions with the speaker on topics such as PBL teaching design, pathways for developing cross-cultural capabilities, and students’ career competency alignment. The academic atmosphere was strong, and the exchange produced positive results.

As a leading comprehensive international service institution in China, Grouphorse Group has long been deeply engaged in the field of industry-education integration. It has established deep cooperation with more than 200 renowned universities at home and abroad, jointly built collaborative talent development platforms such as translation practice bases and Industrial Colleges, and regularly undertakes important work such as specialized evaluation of master’s programs at Double First-Class universities. It continuously transforms frontier needs, practical resources, and standards systems from the industry side into new insights for university education, promoting the upgrading of foreign language education toward applied, internationalized, and interdisciplinary directions.

This visit to Shanghai University of Engineering Science is one of Grouphorse Group’s regular measures to empower university faculty capacity building and deepen university-enterprise collaborative talent development. In the future, Grouphorse Group will continue to leverage its industry-side advantages and resource integration capabilities, join hands with more universities to explore new pathways for industry-education integration, build an internationalized talent development ecosystem adapted to global development needs, and provide solid talent support for the country’s high-level opening-up and sustainable development.
